Subsurface Utility Technician

As we grow our subsurface utility services within our survey group, we are looking for all levels of subsurface utility staff. The Subsurface Utility Technician’s primary responsibilities will include: operating instruments and sensing devices needed to complete different types of SUL work assignments; maintaining field equipment and assigned vehicle; completing required reports and activity logs; working within a multi-person crew; communicating with staff, clients and the public while on a job site; and possesses the knowledge necessary to operate surveying instruments and measuring devices (tape measure, total station, level and/or GPS) needed to complete different types of field survey work assignments. One to two years of experience as a subsurface utility technician is preferred for this position; individuals that exhibit a strong work ethic and willingness to learn will be given high preference. This position will be outdoors in changing weather conditions with work sites varying throughout Philadelphia as well as surrounding states; occasional overnight travel will be required. Additional job requirements include good communication and organizational skills; familiarity with Microsoft office products; exhibit a team attitude and work well with field and office staff; ability to stand and/or walk during entire workday; ability to carry up to 50 pounds of equipment and supplies; have reliable transportation to office; and have a safety mindset. Successful candidates will be able to possess a clean driving record and be able to pass security clearances thru the TSA and FBI.
