DCNR Delaware Canal Bridges

Bucks and Northampton Counties, PA

Land Survey Services

As part of bridge replacement efforts by the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), Hunt Engineering Company performed detailed topographic and bathymetric surveys of 10 existing bridge structures and two existing culverts along the Delaware Canal. Survey scope at each location consisted of topographic surveys of the bridge approaches, canal embankments, key bridge structural elements (low chord, beam seats, etc.), and bathymetric surveys of the canal bed including cross sections up and downstream of the bridges. The single span bridges surveyed included prestressed concrete box beam and rolled steel with timber decking structures. For each structure, Hunt Engineering Company prepared existing feature plans and a deed mosaic to show adjacent properties.
